David R. Becker
DAVID R. BECKER
THE MOST IMPORTANT WATERCOLOR WORKSHOP YOU WILL EVER TAKE
David will teach you watercolor from beginning to end; starting with teaching you how to take total control of the watercolor medium, leading to using that control of the medium to create well-composed watercolors. Subject matter will be changing daily with photo references supplied in the morning and switching to student’s own references in the afternoon. Lessons will include: loosen up your watercolor technique, adding life/people into your paintings, controlling your wet-into-wet watercolor washes, city scenes simplified, portrait in watercolor, and reflections of water in a nautical scene. David's teaching method goes from group teaching exercises in the morning switching to one on one in the afternoon. This workshop is designed to benefit all levels of painters. Teaching students to conquer the medium of watercolor is David's goal and he takes great pride in making sure every student leaves with the ability to control watercolor.
While David works in many mediums, he is widely recognized for his watercolor scenes of Chicago. (For all you fans of Starbuck’s, he was commissioned by them to paint a scene for their Macy’s Starbucks. This painting can be seen at the Northeast corner of the Macy’s Starbucks store on Randolph and Wabash.)
